We are delighted to welcome the fabulous Highland Military Tattoo as they lay on an exclusive mini performance for Country Fair and Highland Games visitors on Saturday 20th May at 2pm and 3.30pm.
The short performance will be a taster of the main Tattoo held at Fort George annually in early September. To start, we welcome a display by the massed pipe bands: RAF Lossiemouth, 2622 ( Highland ) Squadron R Aux AF and Forres and District Pipe Band. All have played at the Tattoo since it started in 2014 and will be playing again this year. There will then be patrol across the arena by members of 51 Squadron RAF Regiment. Each year the Tattoo selects historic battles or campaigns to re-enact and this year it is covering the story of the RAF Regiment who were formed in the Second World War 75 years ago. This patrol, including dogs, will represent the Squadron’s operational activities in Afghanistan.
They will be followed by members of the Lossiemouth Military Wives’ Choir who sang at last year’s Tattoo. They will sing a popular medley of songs from both World Wars. Finally the Massed Bands will come on as a finale as they do at Fort George.
The Highland Military Tattoo will be held at Fort George from the 8th to the 10th September 2017. More details are on the website: www.highlandmilitarytattoo.com.
